OBI 11g Advanced-Bootcamp Workshop II for Partners (3 Day) |
|
Objectives:
OBIEE 11g has adopted the standardized infrastructure of Fusion Middleware to provide robust server capability along with highly anticipated advanced visualization components like Maps, Flash based charts, Scorecards and KPIs in addition to standard BI functionality. This workshop focuses on new features and infrastructure components for BI practitioners who are preferable familiar with OBIEE 10g or previous BI releases.
After taking this course, Oracle Business Intelligence 11g Advanced, attendees will have gained insight into OBIEE11g architecture, technology, reporting solutions and new features. The workshop provides opportunities to practice with OBIEE11g environment as hands on activities, to learn about . security, installation/configuration as well as reporting aspects like, new ROLAP/MOLAP style hierarchical browsing, new chart types, Action Framework and Advanced Visualization. The whole experience will be a high intensity introduction. to the new architecture, administrations and development functions of the product, and how you can implement OBI 11g or upgrade existing OBI 10g clients: so to have OBI 10g skills and experience is prerequisite to participate.
Target Audience:
This hands-on technical workshop is aimed at already skilled OBI 10g implementation consultants within Oracle's Gold or Platinum OPN Partners who already sell and implement OBI.
You must also bring a suitable laptop to load the OBI 11g software for the training – see below for minimum specification.

This training provides BI Developers and Architects with an essential knowledge and “hands-on” experience with the latest release Oracle BI 11g. This training will be delivered by an experienced consultant.

Technical Pre-Requisites:
You must bring a suitable laptop with 4 GB physically free RAM without which a student will not be allowed into the training. Please adhere to the technical pre-requisites in order to profit from the workshop.
This workshop has an environment that includes a VM Image (ß Version) on Linux and also a software component that students will install on their laptop for the labs. Administration rights on the laptop are prerequisite.
- Only Windows platform of 32 bit OS is supported for this workshop. If you have 64 bit OS, make sure to have XP 32 bit mode available. Please also refer to the readme file see link below.
- Minimum 4GB RAM, 25GB free disk space (3 GB RAM would work but, system would be slow). Do not use any directory name with space while installing/working with Oracle DB and BI11g.
- Internet Explorer 7 or 8, Firefox 3.5+
- Firefox could cause graphs to not work properly
- Safari and Chrome are not supported
- Popups should be enabled for the exercises’ environment URL
- Screen resolution should be a minimum of 720x1024. A lower vertical resolution becomes difficult but not impossible to work with OBI EE11g
